Welcome to the next generation indoor photo bioreactor. The system is fully automated, with programmable computer control of lighting (including diurnal cycles), heating, agitation (via magnetic stir bar), and much more. Data is conveniently monitored in real-time, and can be exported to MS Excel. A wide range of options, including a true turbidistat pump, as well as expanded lighting capabilities, are also available. A true turbidistat for algal research
The Generation II PBR is available with an optional computer-controlled turbidistat pump for steady-state research applications. You set the desired optical density (O.D.), and the system automatically pumps out culture and pumps in fresh eluent.
Use the Turbidistat Pump to:
- Continuously extract culture material at the same growth phase for external experimentation
- Research growth increase or decrease upon addition of nutrients or algae-toxic materials to the reactor vessel by monitoring recovery periods
- Other continuous-growth applications

The Culture Vessel Stand

The optional Culture Vessel Stand
can hold up to 4 culture vessels at a time, and has two convenient carrying handles for ease-of-use and added stability. It may also used as a storage device for unused culture vessels.
The stand is made of polypropylene and can resist autoclave temperatures up to 121°C.
